The Yonex Astrox 88D Pro (Gen 3) is the back-court half of Yonex’s doubles-focused Astrox 88 pairing, built to power the back court while its front-court twin, the 88S Pro, controls the net. It’s a versatile racket that works well for doubles players who want to end rallies with heavy, repeated smashes, and its head-heavy balance and stiff shaft channel serious power into every swing, whether you’re playing doubles or singles.
That same head-heavy balance is only slightly slower than the 88S Pro when resetting for blocks and quick net exchanges. It’s built primarily for the back court in doubles, but its power and control also make it a strong option for singles players who like to finish rallies with a smash.
- Power Output: The Rotational Generator System and Power-Assist Bumper concentrate weight at the top of the frame, giving back-court smashes noticeably more bite than the 2nd generation racket.
